been thinking and painting today.. anyway, my mind started wandering and settled onto this: being born in has made me more understanding of people since i woke up from the cult.
i came here, met a bunch of other born-in peeps who immediately understood.
we have all kinda branched out in different directions.
I rejected being an elder over and over because I was very non-judgemental and still am

In respnse to the post, I feel the same way. I have become more understanding of people too. I have always been making an effort to be kind and understanding even to "worldly people". Maybe that is why I never truly fit in with the jw's
you know....i realize that my father isn't the most personable person, but good god we dont talk that often, and i just called to ask him a couple questions about my grandmother because i've started to do my family tree...he was just really cold.
and when he didn't ask why i was wanting this info i said, "the reason i'm asking is because i've started my family tree.

i have to assume it would be a new talk since they have reopened the heavenly calling once again.. it would be refreshing .

i was looking at all my old photos and found this one of me on my last christmas before my parents found the "truth".
i had just turned 3. look at the joy on my face.. i feel so sad for me and now i feel so bad for all those little children born into that religion.
not just because of christmas but because there is no magical days and only days of waiting for armageddon which never comes.. anyone else feel that the children are being robbed of joy and happiness.

There are many, many times they did mean and cruel things to my family. I will focus on one time that an elder tried to force me to tell my wife to stop wearing make-up and combing her hair. He told me that she looked like a hooker. That hurt. I responded by telling him that she did not look like a hooker, she unlike his wife was just too proud to go out looking like she had not had a bath in a month. He got mad and removed my priveleges.....So actually he did me a favor after all!

What I would like to know is if anyone else noticed behaivor that reminded you of a RED CARPET affair during the Memorial? I can see how some might feel that way, since any sort of celebrating is frowned upon. So any excuse is used to behave like a night on the town......Puttin' on the ritz as it were.....I remember one congregation I was attending where the assemblies and the memorial was where everyone got dressed up. They would all act like they were going out tot he Oscars or something. New shoes, new dress, new suit....Well, one oft eh elders one year rented a WHITE TUXEDO! No kidding. He looked like an idiot.

She sounds very self-centered to me. Probably assumes that you "WANT" her and that she can use you. I know how it goes, my sissy - in - law did that to guys forever. I feel that you did the right thing morally by not letting her go home with a potential guy that could have done more than rape her. I also feel that not letting her drive was good, and offering her a safe place to sleep it off was commendable. My advice to you, if you would like to hear it is to drop her. If you give her too much attention and time she will eventually feel entitiled to taking you for a ride that could hurt you financially and emotionally.
